BERLIN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TEAM

The Berlin Emergency Management Team (BEMT) is a volunteer group whose purpose is to support the Town of Berlin emergency services and Berlin Citizens in the event of a major emergency or disaster, whether it is natural or man-made.

The team is always looking to add new members.  The BEMT meets 6:30pm monthly on the 2nd Thursday at the Four Corners fire station. To join the team or for questions contact the Town Administrator 802-552-8801.

Emergency Management Director:
Berlin Police Chief James Pontbriand

Team Members:
Ture Nelson

John Askielaszek - CVDART Liaison

The Berlin EM Team strongly encourages all town residents to review the “Family Emergency Preparedness Workbook” available on-line from Vermont Emergency Management at:

To better warn residents of emergencies, the Berlin EM Team uses the Vermont Alert system (VT-Alert), to send emergency notifications through text messages, e-mail, and telephone voice messages. We encourage town residents to sign up for this free service which can be done on-line at the following link:

While you can receive emergency notifications on your landline phone, you do need to have somebody assist you by filling out an online registration.
